Virginia Creeper vine (Parthenocissus quinquefolia) leaf in full fall glory, arranged in a green glass vase and photographed in studio using only natural light. The dramatic autumn colours stand out against a dark background while the textural details of the leaf veins and water drops on glass add subtle depth to the composition.
This image was created as part of an ongoing series of still life studies working with botanical materials found near my home. Through these photographs I aim to explore the subtle and often overlooked natural beauty found in the urban environment.
