The lush overgrowth of a meadow in spring, lacy yarrow leaves and carpets of clover providing a beautiful green textural background to delicate purple-blue spires of grape hyacinth flowers. Sparkling with dew after a soft rain, the scene offers a glimpse of quiet details in the midst of cacophonous growth.
These photos are from a few years ago, and as this year’s spring creeps along slowly with cold and dry conditions, I find these images of spring’s growth to be reassuring. There is hope that we will still see an explosion of spring foliage and flowers, perhaps a little later than usual.
